Always notify the County Animal Shelter that you found the dog and where and when you found the dog. Any vet will check for a chip free of charge. A found pet must be kept on stray hold for at least 72 hours and should not be rehomed until every possible option to find the owner had been tried. Also share to Lost and Found Dogs of North Carolina. Please require proof of ownership older than six months to ensure the real owner gets their pet back. Thank you very much for saving this one!!!
