Message from Owner

Six weeks ago, our cat Kara dragged herself with blood streaming down her leg. I thought a dog had attacked her. The truth was worse—someone shot her. The x-ray showed a bullet lodged in her tered leg bone. The vet said if it had hit her head or chest, she'd be dead . Someone in this neighborhood shot my cat. We spent our entire Christmas savings on emergency surgery to save her leg. We live paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. But the money isn't what haunts me—it's the cruelty. It's knowing that someone looked at a small, defenseless animal and decided to hurt her. The pain she endured. The fear. I can't stop thinking about it. We raised our fence. We kept them inside. But on Monday, December 22nd, contractors left our gate open. Our other cat, Kal El—a large brown tabby—got out. He hasn't come . Kal El never disappears. In five years, he's always come back. But now, every hour that passes, my wife and I are living the same nightmare. We're terrified he's lying somewhere hurt, or worse. These aren't "just cats" to us—they're our children. We've been praying desperately for his return, but the fear is crushing us. I don't understand how someone could do this. What kind of person shoots a cat? In a neighborhood where families live? Where children play? If you've seen a large brown tabby cat, please call me:. Leave a message if I don't answer—I will call you back immediately.

flyers on porches a block around. talk to neighbors. wont go far. be patient. inside cats get scared outside and may not answer when called. my blind cat was 5 doors down for 6 weeks. the neighbor kept the flyer and called me when she spotted my cat in her front bushes - where I had called my cat's name a million times.

Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏

Put litterbox outside so he or she can smell their own scent and find their way home easier. Don’t leave food outside because that could attract predators or stray cats and scare he or she off. Go for a walk around the area and call from the car then sit outside your house and call for him or her and also just talk in your normal voice and have a conversation with someone. They eventually hear you and smell their scent and find their way. Repeat this every day until she or he comes home. Also check neighbor garages.

Also , I hope you made a police report about your other kitty being shot as it is illegal to discharge a firearm unless.it is for self defense. I hope they catch whoever shot your cat and charge that person to the fullest extent of the law.

Check on 24petconnect.com, they are linked to all the local shelters and you can search by your zip code. Call and physically go into the shelters to look for him.

Also try playing cats or kittens meowing on YouTube outside in your yard or in a window of your home. Check with neighbors as he may have been accidentally locked in a garage or shed.

Try putting something outside with your scent on it, worn socks seem to work best. If you have a garage put a bowl of food in there and leave the door open enough for him to get in. Although I am sure you have already done this, start searching immediately and keep looking. Look in bushes, under cars, and anywhere he can crawl into, they tend to stay close to home. Take a can of food with you and call his name or use whatever sound gets him to come to you. Search early morning, evenings with a flashlight, and late at night. Praying for his safe return home 🙏

If he uses a litter box put it outside. It worked for me. Or something with your scent on it.
