Blue Russian, walks slightly funny

Message from Owner

Hi everyone - our cat got out yesterday morning, his hse is on S Valley Stream Dr. He is a Russian Blue and his name is Prince. Although he is an adult, he is about the size of a 6ish month old kitten and he walks slightly funny (his back legs). If anyone has seen our boy please contact me immediately. My family and I are extremely worried about him and just want him home. I don’t want to think the worst.

It's most likely in hiding mode and won't come or answer when you call it.

FOR INDOOR CATS: Between the hours of 11pm-2am walk around your block calling his name and shaking his favorite treat bag. Make sure to take a carrier with you as he will be scared. Contact homes around your block that have SHEDS or GARAGES. Kitties will seek dark places to hide and could get locked in. It’s warmer now, and neighbors may not open their shed/garage daily/weekly trapping kitty with no food or water.

Is he Microchipped? If so notify the company that he is missing and make sure your contact info is up to date. Blanket your neighborhood with big bright flyers and ask people to search garages and sheds and parked vehicles like RV'S and other places where he could have gotten trapped inside. Search with a flashlight to reflect eyes and a treat bag to shake and pop top cans of smelly food to pop open now and then. If he is not used to being outside then he is probably hunkered down hiding somewhere close by. Post on other places like Nextdoor and Craigslist and pawboost and lost petcolove org and Facebook lost and found pages but be aware of scammers targeting lost and found pages never give money up front to anyone who says they have your cat or can find him and never agree to meet anyone alone. Borrow a humane trap from a shelter like Hermitage or Pacc and set it up baited outside the exit where he escaped. But never leave a trap unattended or set up in extreme heat. Keep searching and spreading the word.
