Hopefully not in that sweater or whatever that is that can get caught up on something and put the cat in danger. An aggressive active search is critical!!! Start with A THOROUGH ground search! Note: A cat may run a short distance and then hide in silence. move at dawn or dusk. Get a flashlight. Visit your local shelters daily in person, including kennels in the back. With kitten season almost year round, if your cat is not microchipped and with updated information they may go up for adoption right away. That is why you need to visit the shelters daily. If approved. Check Facebook pages Lost and Found, Buy, Sell Trade, Neighbor to Neighbor, Next Door and Craigslist pets and lost and found. Talk with all your neighbors in at least a couple blocks radius and ask them to check garages out buildings, sheds, cars, under the house, etc. Or get permission to allow you to check yourself. You can leave flyers with a piece of tape on the door in visual sight. Put up giant signs for people who dont do facebook. Indoor cats usually hide very close to home: under the house, in the bushes, or even inside the house! Outdoor cats may travel farther, although usually no more than 2-3 blocks. Both indoor and outdoor cats may be hiding because they are ill or injured, or they may be stuck and unable to free themselves, so a thorough physical search of the owner's property and the neighboring properties is critical to finding and bringing them safely home. 🔸Lost Cat Resources🔸 Below is our generic written post for those with lost cats. 🔸Also we can send links to other possible resource options you may want to use, if you want them we can pm you.🔸 ➖➖➖➖ We suggest getting flyers made asap and handing them out to the neighbors to ask for camera footage for Sightings etc. It's also an idea to get a food station & a warming shelter (shelter for cat to be protected from weather elements) put out. Also put things that smell like your cat. The litter box could attract other things- if you wash the box and put it out it and put in fresh litter has been said it could help still bring the cat to it and not any unwanted guests Look at night with a flashlight also, as their eyes will be seen 🔺️There are ways to keep a cat safe if it likes to be outdoors. •Cat patios- enclosed •Fences can have added barriers on top ➖➖➖ Other resources How to find lost cat https://www.somerzby.com.au/blog/how-find-lost-cat/ Link ➖➖➖➖➖ ▪️App - will help you make flyers etc https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coderonway.lostcatguide Link ▪️Drone Drone Vision LLP- has a fee https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560575126941&mibextid=ZbWKwL Link ▪️Resource cat stuck in tree Canopy Cat https://www.canopycatrescue.com/?fbclid=IwAR0VWaiRcrMTXdyXNMt8lj3l_88hFwURqoFg27_eIkjs6pa1RyXFFj5L1kQ Link
