Message from Finder

He is very friendly. Tried to jump in my girlfriend’s car a little after midnight. I have him inside to keep cool, he was overheating outside. He’s fed and has water. New collar, but no tags.

Jenni Pairan also specify County animal shelter for reporting, as that’s the legal requirement in Ohio. There are private shelters and rescues but the COUNTY shelter (in Hamilton County, that’s Cincinnati Animal CARE) should be the number one shelter contact.

Jenni Pairan you may want include “shelters, and some police departments” for microchip scanning locations

Thank you for helping this dog. Not sure what you have done yet so here are some suggestions. Post on Pawboost. Post on Nextdoor in area found. There are lots of lost and found pet pages on FB share in all you can find. Not just area where found. I will share on my FB page. Make a report to animal shelter as that is the first place someone will look for their lost pet. You can have it scanned for microchip. They do it at any vet and do not charge. Hang up bright colored posters in the area found. Ask your neighbors in case they recognize the dog. Tell the mailman and police department as they are out on the street all day and may recognize. Remember everyone is not on social media. Keep us updated please.

Next thing to do is report to Cincinnati Animal CARE so they can start the stray hold clock, and if his people contact the shelter they can let you know

Has he been checked for a microchip? Any vet or animal shelter or some police departments can do it for you.
