Put out the bedding or something with his/her scent on it. Also something with your scent on it, worn clothing, blankets. They need a familiar scent to find their way home. Walk the area with a favorite toy that makes noise or a treat bag. Call his/her name as you would at home. You can even use words that he/she may get happy over, like bye bye or something else you may use. Putting out a good smelling food can even help. With trapping, people use white castle burgers no onions. Of course you may attract other animals but its worth a try.
Since its more quite at night, stay outside and listen for a bark. The night and early morning are the best times for a lost pet to travel.
Post signs in the area. Take them to local vets as well. Most people will take dogs there to have them scanned. Check the local shelter daily in person. Never rely on them to contact you if your dog is taken in. Prayers your baby is found soon. Shared to Cincinnati Tri-State Area lost and found pets.
