KEEP CALLING YOUR CAT'S NAME ..... Go outside and call loudly for a few minutes EVERY morning between 7 and 9 and EVERY night between 8 and 10, continue every day for some weeks. Cats can hear a mile and more away & follow your voice a little each day. ........... Go to every outbldg, shed, garage on your block and next, stop at each bldg and call & stay to listen before moving on to next. ............ While out looking take a flashlight; shine it into bushes, wood & debris piles, under porch or steps, any place secluded where your kitty could hide from sight -- the light will reflect from eyes even when you can't see her. ......... Go to animal control EVERY WEEK, no more than 7 days apart. He could be taken there any time; stray hold is only 7 days and he'd be made available for adoption or rescue on the 8th day. Remember that just because he is not at animal control or VHS when you go there first time, he could be picked up & taken there any time, even weeks from now. ........... Chips can travel through the body and get missed in a scan. ......... Watch the posts "pets for adoption" by the various rescues. Rescues can pull from EACC after a 7-day stay & will soon later be posted as for adoption. ........ KEEP POSTING on lost pets pages every week & be sure to look at your post & the shared page post for comments -- do not wait for facebook to send a notification. .......... Get a large box (over 2 ft) - on two adjoining sides use a heavy marker & write in 6-inch letts: "LOST - ORANGE/TABBY CAT" (your description) and next line "FEMALE (or MALE) ADULT CAT" - then set the box with the corner towards the street so that cars coming both ways can see the sign ----. ............ If possible, set your not-cleaned litter box outside - cats can detect their own scent for a long distance, same for putting out a piece of clothing not washed yet. ----- POST ON facebook pages "Evansville Lost Pets" -&- "Evansville, Indiana - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets" -&- "Lost and Missing Pets of Evansville", repost a couple times a week, check pages every day for comments on page post & "Community post" from you.Read More
