Chance Thomas if there’s even a chance it’s her you can go to BARC to see because they might adopt her out to someone else. The ID number is there on the post.

Please try these tips: 💡 The big takeaway: For tiny dogs, awareness + shelters + scent items are the three most effective strategies. Many little dogs are found within a mile of where they went missing, hiding quietly. 🔎 Immediate Search Actions Walk & Call in the Neighborhood: Walk slowly in the area at different times of day (especially early morning and late evening when it’s quieter). Call the dog’s name gently and bring treats or a squeaky toy. Small dogs often hide close by but are too scared to come out unless it’s calm. Check Hiding Spots: Look under cars, porches, sheds, bushes, and even inside storm drains. Tiny dogs can squeeze into places you wouldn’t expect. Leave Familiar Scents: Put out the dog’s bed, a blanket, or even worn clothing that smells like the owner in the front yard or near where they went missing — dogs navigate heavily by scent. 📣 Getting the Word Out Nextdoor & Local FB Groups: Post in neighborhood-specific Facebook groups and on Nextdoor (neighbors often check there first for lost pets). Houston Shelters & Rescues: Contact BARC Animal Shelter, Houston SPCA, and local rescue groups daily. Visit in person if possible — don’t just call, because descriptions on intake don’t always match. Lost Pet Databases: Report the dog on PawBoost, Petco Love Lost (they use facial recognition for pets), and Helping Lost Pets. 🪧 Flyers & Physical Signs Update the Flyers: Make sure they’re BIG, clear, with a full-color photo, “LOST SMALL DOG — 6 lbs” in bold at the top, and a phone number large enough to read from a car. Reward Wording: Instead of “Reward” (which can attract scammers), say “Cash Reward — No Questions Asked”. This sometimes encourages people who might be holding onto the dog to return it. Car Windows: Tape flyers to the back window of your car so it’s seen everywhere you drive. 🐾 Special Tips for Tiny Dogs Small Dog, Big Risk: Because he’s so small, well-meaning people may assume he’s a stray and keep him, thinking they’re helping. That’s why community awareness is critical. Pet Stores & Vets: Drop flyers at local groomers, pet shops, and vet offices — people who find little dogs often take them straight there. ⚠️ Scammer Alert When offering a reward, scammers may call claiming they “found” the dog and demand money first. Best response: insist on seeing a photo of the dog with something unique (e.g., their collar or a toy) before meeting — and never send money ahead of time.
