always get proof of ownership. there are people who will try claiming animals that aren't legally theirs. people can generate realistic AI images to fake "proof of ownership". here are some other forms of proof you can ask for

thank you for securing these lost pups, keeping safe and posting. the easiest and quickest way for a finder to reunite a lost pet is have them scanned for a chip. if these pups are chipped they could be back home in a few hours. please make sure they scan the whole body and the legs. scanning a second time is always recommended just to be sure. microchips are known to migrate over time and can be missed. Stephanie Martinez has offered to come scan them
