Shared. I pray you find handsome Whiskers soon. Tips: 1. Look anywhere a cat might hide & ask neighbors to check around their homes. 2. Post as Lost Cat with your phone number, cat’s name, & clear photo on PawBoost.com, Nextdoor.com, 24Petconnect.com, LostMyKitty.com, sdhumane.org, sddac.com, petfbi.org, Neighbors by Ring, Lost and Found Pets of (your area & surrounding areas). 3. Search Found Cats on websites listed in Number 2. 4. PawBoost.com & PetFBI.org have good tips on their websites. 5. Go online to Cole and Marmalade What To Do If Your Indoor Cat Gets Outside. 6. Go to shelters (call first) - Chula Vista Animal Care Facility, San Diego Humane Society, County of San Diego Dept. of Animal Services in Bonita. 7. Put up flyers & give flyers to neighbors. 8. If microchipped, set an alert on their profile & confirm chip is registered with manufacturer with your current contact information. 9. If someone sees your cat & the cat doesn’t return home, call or text pet recovery specialist Babs Fry 619-249-2221 ASAP & they can set a trap for free.

Only If you are certain your cat is nowhere in your home hiding, these are tips I share: If you can safely leave a slider, door or window cracked open, (garage door, too) sometimes cats will return on their own. Put some items with your scent on it (unwashed socks, shirts, pillow cases, etc.) and smelly canned cat food or tuna fish (mackerel or sardines work best) and water. Put a trail of cat treats to your door. Place your kitty's bed out & litter box (only if no coyotes in your area). Indoor cats that escape are usually no further than 3 houses away. Ask neighbors if you can look for your cat on their property. Sometimes cats will try to come back inside very late when it's dark and quiet when they feel it's safe to come out. Cats generally stay close by, so look under bushes, cars, up trees.. Most indoor cats go into survival mode and hide. Most will not respond when in "survival mode." Call your cat's name softly, listen for a meow, and look for eyes with a flashlight. Best time is the middle of the night. Leave a garage door open enough so your cat can return. Ask your neighbors to check their garages, a favorite hiding place. Also post on Nextdoor, Craigslist, too. Post lots of flyers in many places. Ask your neighbors to check their Ring app. which you know shows videos of what people’s cameras have seen. Put a “Lost Cat” sign on your property. Post flyers. Ask your neighbors. File a lost pet report with the Humane Society. Check daily online for found stray cats photos on the San Diego Humane Society's website. SDDAC.com, info@sdhumane.org. SDHumane.org. Hope you find your kitty soon. 🌻 Note: suggestions I’ve made brought back several cats by leaving a door open and also leaving unwashed clothing nearby. The unwashed clothing seems to really get them home. Perhaps a box outside, too. Another cat was found underneath a nearby car. Hope these tips work for you. Good luck! 🌹 Animal Services SDDAC.COM
