Medium-sized, short-haired black-and-white tuxedo cat. Mostly black/dark coat with a prominent white chest and belly, white front paws/“socks,” and white on the lower legs. The face appears mostly dark with a small amount of white around the chin/muzzle. Long dark tail. Appears alert and healthy in the photo. Other identifying details: Seen outdoors at approximately 3:36 AM on August 15, 2026.

I first noticed this cat in the neighborhood around October 2025 and have seen it periodically since then. I recently started providing food. I’m trying to determine whether this is an owned outdoor cat, a lost cat, or a community/stray cat and would love to find out if anyone recognizes it.

Yes. We saw her the first time in January when it was really cold. I was horrified to see a cat outside so have been trying to help her since. She was randomly visiting us and then right around the time she had kittens she showed up more regularly. We were trying to figure out how to time trapping Mom or kittens first. I can stop feeding her if you are feeding her so she’ll be more likely to go to your trap.

This cat has been visiting my patio on and off since January. Thankfully we recently trapped her 4 kittens with the help of Loudoun County Cat Coalition. Hopefully the kittens will get adopted soon. The mother cat you have seen needs to be caught, spayed and given vaccinations. She has only come back to visiting my patio randomly. Please let me know or let the Loudoun County Cat coalition know if you successfully catch her. She’s a sweetheart and deserves help.
