Lydia TrifunovAll sound suggestions . At one time we had 5 cats and none from the same litter nor same ages. We have had several cats rehome themselves with us , over the almost 30 years we've lived in our home. Think the word gets spread around...

Kate Noah If you decide to try introducing to your cat, have discovered through experience, the best and safest way: Keep the new cat in a dog crate / cage (eg in the corner of your living room). Dog crate with cat bed, small litter tray and heavy food/ water bowls. Crate half covered with a sheet. This way both cats can safely view & sniff each other safely through the bars of the cage. Give your cat lots of attention & cuddles. After a week or so, you can open the cage door. By then they know each other & wil interact fine. Maybe become best friends! 💕

Lydia Trifunovthat is not our intent. We have one stray female we took in and if she doesn't attack this new cat , possibly we will keep her. I am not introducing them yet.

Lydia Trifunov we took her to a vet for a chip check: no chip. She was at Armitage Park going into a dumpster so we scooped her and brought her home. Armitage is by the river on 62 acres so no homes to check. She is listed on greenhills, pawboost and our neighborhood site. In the meantime, she is relaxing in our bedroom.

Please door knock and distribute found posters and leaflets. Request proof of ownership (eg other photos or microchip papers or distinguishing features). Also ID. For safety reasons ... Last resort (as stressful, might end up at pound, or worse), take to vet for microchip scan in a very secure cat carrier. Request an all over body scan, as microchips can migrate. (One cat's microchip recently found in it's arm-pit!) Or google how to use a cat trap safely, take to vet in cat trap, with a towel over trap. If owner located, please explain that most cats need to be locked in for 3+ weeks to bond to a new (or old) home, otherwise sooner or later might try to head back to previous territory and become hopelessly lost ... Also, most cats are escape artists until bonded to new home (eg breaking through mosquito netting and forcing sliding doors / windows open). To be extra vigilant! Thanks for caring 🙏
