Be sure to notify the local police department, dog warden/pound, and humane society. Print out neon signs with your dog’s picture on it, its name and your phone number, and staple it to the telephone poles around all intersections where your dog was lost. Not everyone has Facebook so signs are key for sightings. Also, hang them at any store, bank, library etc. in the area and be sure to ask the mail carriers in your area to be on the lookout/give them a flyer, as well. Put something with your scent on it, and your dog’s bed/bedding, outside of your house. Scent is key, dogs can use scent to find their way back home. You may also want to look into a Pet Recovery service, they are extremely helpful.
