Description

Medium sized, LONG American medium hair orange cat. He has dark orange and light orange stripes on his forehead and black freckles on his nose. He is very shy and is weary of strangers. He might hiss or try to bite, but he is very healthy and vaccinated fully. He might be willing to come out or come to you if you have wet food or treats. Covering him in a blanket will calm him down instantly and will allow you to grab him if need be.

Message from Owner

My dear boy escaped from my window this afternoon and hasn’t been seen since. He is only a year and some change old, and very very sweet - He’s a total love bug. He is microchipped and registered with McLean County. If you’re able to obtain him, please consider taking him to Town and Country Vet, and they will know how to contact me (Shannon Thayer) or his other owner. I’ll be monitoring this notice in case anyone has any sightings. Please keep an eye out for my little guy, he’s very scared of the outdoors and strangers, so we are worried sick. Thank you so much for your time and attention!

Put litter box out for scent Crack open garage door and put his food water and bed inside to attract him Get a humane trap Look under bushes and decks and anywhere he could be hiding Look at dawn and dusk with a flashlight and food Have neighbors check ring cam Make flyers with pictures and put up in the area Give to vet offices and shelters and police and animal control Call microchip company Keep looking and calling Hope home safe soon

🙏❤️ Leave a door open at night too... big enough for the cat to get back in their home .... it worked for my cat.

Check garages sheds window wells porches bushes under decks vehicles. Ask neighbors to check these places incase he got locked in someplace and can't get out. Go out day and night calling his name. Also look up trees. Cats will climb up trees if something scares them. Go in person to animal control shelters vets to see if someone dropped him off. It's very important to check the hoods of vehicles. Cats will climb up under the hood of a vehicle to stay warm. They also can travel under one. Even get dumped far out. Cats can travel a distance. ( Not saying he did, but it happens.) Check out all the lost and found sites daily. Check the storm drains too. Call his name! Shake a bag of treats. Call his name! It's very important that you keep doing everything that I suggested in my comment everyday and night. 🙏♥️!

Be proactive. Cats that escape from indoors will most likely stay close by. They will go into hiding but come out at nighttime. Go out when it’s dark, or early morning around 5 am , use a flashlight and call out by name, look in bushes, under cars etc. Talk to your neighbors and get the flyers out , they are really helpful for those who won’t see your posts on the internet. Put out some clothing to attract the cat’s smell, if possible set up a Wi-Fi camera to monitor and if the cat comes- set a trap. The cat will try to find a food source so try setting up a food station and monitor. Report to your local police and if the cat is microchipped, make sure the info is up to date. I would also email or call shelters in case animal control picks it up. Check their websites daily as new cats come in all the time.
