Get a humane trap (buy at home depot if they have the correct size available, or rent from Humane Animal Rescue in the North Side or from someone on fb)) in yard if you think he's still in the area, OR NEAR ANY SIGHTINGS once there is a sighting. Put a piece of your unwashed laundry & smelly food inside. You need to check the trap frequently, even overnight, especially in hot or cold weather. Animals can injure themselves trying to get out of cages, & are also very vulnerable to predators. Also you can put cardboard over the wire bottom (but not on the trip plate).Tell your neighbors he is lost & to keep an eye out for him & not to chase if he's skittish. Visit shelters IN PERSON every dew days. Shelter workers often mistakenly say the pet is not there. Post on Pawboost & put up laminated flyers. Search everywhere, under porches, in sheds, in bushes, near home for him. Call all shelters & Animal Control and go to shelters in person every couple days. I cannot stress enough how important getting & using a humane trap is. Please do not listen to well-meaning people who say they do not work. Shared & Prayers.
