Medium sized black and white male with pointy ears and white tip tail

I first saw this baby three days ago and he’s been hanging around the woods behind me and my neighbor’s hse now for three days. Mail. Skittish. Pointy ears that stand straight up. Medium sized looks maybe 50 pounds or so. Doesn’t look like he’s been out long because he looks like he’s in good shape. My backyard touches this big lumberyard or sand yard of some sort on 70 and I’m wondering if that’s where he might be taking up shelter. Takes off running the second. I open the door but has come back to eat now three days in a row. Please somebody help. I don’t want to see the sweet baby dead on the side of 70 one day.
