Description

His name is Oliver. He's a 10yr old Orange Tabby with a "classic" marbled pattern, with a freckled nose and freckled paw pads. He has a blue leather breakaway collar that has silver stars and moons on it, a round tag that has his name and contact information, a "byte tag" QR code collar accessory that you can scan if you get close enough, and he's chipped. You might be able to lure him to safety with food or treats.

Message from Owner

Good afternoon everyone! If you have a moment, please read this... I know it's a lot of text, but any help is important. I'm reaching out here just in case any of you in this group happen to live nearby and have seen our cat. This is in the neighborhoods between Bolsa Chica/Heil and Bolsa Chica/Edinger. I've posted on the Neighbors page for Ring, on Nextdoor, on several groups on Facebook, and posts on many websites that make virtual fliers. I'll be making paper ones soon as well that I will be putting around. One of our cats broke out of our back catio early in the morning on Thursday 8/28, before I got up for work. Since then I have spent time looking for him around the hse, outside the hse in the back and front yards, the nearby foliage, the roof, and in our grge - but no luck. He hasn't come to any meals, and I've been trying to find him in our neighborhood throughout the day and at night since (I apologize if my calling for him has disturbed you at any point). We have since fixed the spot in our catio, so this should not happen again. His name is Oliver. He's a 10yr old Orange Tabby with a "classic" marbled pattern, with a freckled nose and freckled paw pads. He has a blue leather breakaway collar that has silver stars and moons on it, a round tag that has his name and contact information, a "byte tag" QR code collar accessory that you can scan if he lets you get close enough, and he's chipped. He has NO bell. You might be able to lure him to safety with food or treats, especially since he's been gone for multiple days. Per Nextdoor, the neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods that this specifically pertains to are called "Island Track", "Race Track Streets of HB", and potentially even "Huntington Village Meadow View". If you see this post and are in the area, please check your backyards and grges!! He has been gone for a full 48 hours at this point, and with how hot it can get in structures in the direct sunlight (not to mention the coyotes), I'm very worried about him. We normally never let our cats outside for their own safety as well as the safety of the local environment. He is a purely indoor cat. If you find him or think you find him - don't approach because he might be very scared. Please take a picture and attach it to this post in a comment, or message me directly with an image to let me know he's been spotted. If you believe you find him deceased, please reach out to me privately. Any information at all is helpful!! Potential videos from your Ring cameras, or other security systems, also help establish a direction he might have been at specific hours. I expect him to be in backyards, but I can't be for sure. I'm still recovering from an severe ankle injury, and its been very hard to search for long hours. Thank you so very much for your time reading this. I hope you have a wonderful day, and a great long weekend.

Leave the catio door open for him to go inside if he comes back. You can try setting a trap in your front yard.

Leave the door open if it’s safe to do so

If you haven’t already post on the ring camera app, it’s called Neighbors. You don’t need the ring camera to use the app. I hope this helps.

So sorry your kitty is missing 😰 Please go out late at night or very early in the morning when there are very few cars and people out. Sit on your front or back stairs, wherever he’s more familiar and talk in a normal conversation voice, think low cell phone conversation. Do this for at least an hour if not longer, morning and night until found. If he likes treats and knows the sound of a treat bag do that also or any sound that he gets excited about. If he’s scared and hiding, this may be the encouragement needed to come out. Cats can hide for days. Also go to catsinthebag.org for many other helpful tips on how to find him. Time is of the essence as most stay close for at least the first 72 hours. Good luck. I Hope he is found safe and soon. 🙏🐾💕
