Message from Owner

Please help me find my baby, Simba. He has been missing for 2.5 weeks and I am devastated. (Missing from F Street & 59th area). He's nearly 2 years old, has beautiful green eyes and a very gentle temperament. I bottle fed him when we found him abandoned as a kitten, so he's very attached to me. He's never wandered before, so I fear someone may have taken him thinking he was a stray when he's not. It would mean the world to me to get him back. I understand mistakes happen, and if you have any information please let me know. I've posted in many places, contacted the Vet, have gone to the Humane Society and have filed a lost pet report. I've contacted every person that has reached out and I'm so grateful for all the love and support. I know we can get him back . Thank you, Jess

He’s not neutered. It’s spring mating season. He will travel as far as 3 sq miles mating with the intact females he finds, and fighting the other intact males with the same mindset. Hopefully he eventually finds his way back home, and when he does, please get him neutered, and consider making him an indoor kitty if you want him to live a long and healthy life. The multiplication of kittens explodes exponentially from just one litter, and many of them will live less than a year, feral and living on the streets, and those that survive will continue making more kittens. In the last 2 years I have trapped spayed neutered, vaccinated and tamed 3 feral females and their offspring totaling 22 kittens. They are all safe, well fed and cared for. Had I not gotten them fixed and out of the kitten pipeline, those 25 cats, half of them female, would have produced a generation of hundreds. Those would disperse and disappear, and the never ending cycle would continue. Neutering and spaying stops the pipeline and the desire to roam. Keeping them inside is even better. 23 years ago I trapped 3 feral females and their 16 kittens. The kittens were all sick, so I found homes for the mommas and kept and medicated the kittens. In December I lost the last two of the kitties. They were 23 years old. You obviously love your kitty. If you want to have him long term, you need to get him fixed.

Cross post everywhere. Get out calling Kitty especially early and late when it's quiet. Search high and low with a flashlight. Put up posters with number large enough to be seen while driving. And post on next door com
