TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST DOG: ✔️Place his/her bedding, a piece of your unwashed clothing, bedding or even your worn socks, and Please share on NextDoor App. Put a bowl of water (no food) in your front yard. He/she may be able to pick up the scent and find his/her way home. ✔️ Walk around the area calling to your dog and shaking a bag/box of treats or squeezing a favorite squeaky toy. ✔️If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and update your contact information. ✔️Hang flyers (use a bright color board or paper) with your dog's picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home. ✔️Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. Talk to the mailman and UPS/FedEx/delivery drivers! They see a lot! ✔️Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing. ✔️File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters (you can usually do it online) ✔️Check shelters in person, daily if possible. Ask to see dogs in isolation too. ✔️Check shelter websites as well. ✔️Check shelter found reports for dogs found but not at the shelter. ✔️Take a flyer to the shelters. ✔️File online with lostmydoggie. petharbor, pawboost.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member/owner that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.
