Message from Owner

Solo slipped out of a screen in our window left unsecured by a company redoing the trim on the front of our hse. He has been missing since this morning around 3am and has missed his meal period. It’s intensely hot outside and we let him outside on his harness but he is an indoor cat and needs to eat and drink water. Please if you are in the University Heights area, keep your eyes peeled and help bring Solo home. Message @bumble.candle on Instagram if you think you see him.

Hello everyone I am Solo’s owner thank you for all your support and energy in finding Solo and helping him get home. I was leaving to look again early this morning and he was right outside ! He is safe, fed and home with us 24hrs later - currently sleeping on his favorite chair. Thank you again so much for sharing and thinking of him, I really appreciate you all. <333

Going by the picture posted it looks like Solo IS an outdoor cat! Cats should not be left outside unattended. That’s exactly how they get into trouble. Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scared and hungry out on his own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. 🔦 Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further away. 📣Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find him, PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. 🐈‍⬛ Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy 🐾💙🐾

He is probably close by hiding. He’s scared, so speak softly when you call his name. Can you leave the window open where he got out? Put some food right inside? I hope he comes back.
