Alexander Galban, did you observe anything that may suggest why she failed to return (stray cats, critters, or people outside after dark, noise or commotion, objects set in her path, etc.)? If you describe what happened overnight I can suggest what to do next. You should still be in the window of opportunity for Kitty to come back on her own so something must be keeping her in hiding. Please check under nearby foundations and try this strategy again tonight. If you have stray cats coming to your property, keep them at bay by providing food away from the house to clear a path for Kitty to return.

Alexander Galban, got it. Finding an escaped indoor cat is not easy -- they're expert at hiding -- but I'm hopeful she'll return on her own when she feels it's safe to come home. Please keep me updated. Note: if she fails to return, it's possible she crawled under a raised foundation (many mobile homes are elevated) and can't find the way out. She shouldn't be much farther than where you last saw her, so if she's not home by morning, get a powerful flashlight and check all the foundations in that radius. Hang in there.

Diana Ellis I just got back from looking for her, it’s night time already, there’s no sign of her yet, and it’s a mobile home complex, I checked the bottom of the cars, behind houses even outside the complex. Still nothing.

Alexander Galban, first of all, make sure everything outside the door looks exactly as it did when Kitty escaped -- the "cloth" needs to be folded flat on the doorstep with a small bowl of food on top (making sure you can still open the door when she returns). You say "complex" do you live in an apartment or condo and are you on the first floor? If other cats could be keeping Kitty in hiding, place food for them out in the open and well away from Kitty's path home -- it should keep them satisfied and occupied so they don't interfere with Kitty's return. She's likely hiding nearby, but is too scared to show herself or respond when called. This is what I suggest: DURING THE DAYTIME alert nearby neighbors in case Kitty is hiding close to another unit (under a stairwell, vehicle, outdoor furniture, shrubs, or in a garage, shed, or carport, etc.), then, if there’s time before dark and you can search SILENTLY without dislodging her from her hiding spot, focus your efforts close to home and tiptoe around in the daylight using a flashlight, but be quiet and discreet so as not to frighten her (shhh! DO NOT CALL or shake treats), check every crack and crevice, look in, under and around sheds, vehicles, furniture, under foundations and porches, into trees etc. but suspend searching when it gets dark to give her the chance to return voluntarily. Again, AT DUSK set things up as I described and if you see Kitty approach and settle on the food be very careful not to startle her as you slowly and quietly provide a clear path back inside. If you can't wait up, set an alarm and watch again just before sunrise -- it's a popular time to return. Please let me know what happens tonight and if she's not back by morning, I'll provide more detailed instructions. I'm hopeful for some good news.

Diana Ellis Less than 100 meters from home, we tried your strategy by leaving a cloth outside, food and water, putting the litter box inside and just watching through a camera outside, we do have a lot of outside cats tho, and there’s more roaming around the complex, till now, there’s no signs of her
