Message from Owner

Med is a beloved member of our family and we are desperately trying to bring him home. He went missing on June 13 around 9:00 AM after falling from a second-floor balcony near 117 Richmond Street in Dartmouth. He has never been outside before and is likely very scared and hiding nearby. Please do not chase him if you see him. He is frightened by loud noises and sudden movements and may run farther away. If possible, please approach calmly, speak softly, and contact us immediately. If you have a security camera, doorbell camera, or any footage from the area, please check it. We do not know which direction he went, and even a small sighting could help us find him. Any information is greatly appreciated. Reward offered for his safe return. Thank you for helping us bring Med home.

Borrowed tips from another. Supervise while considering, as in some areas, some tips could also attrack unwanted visitors. Hi! 🐈Lost Cat tips/ideas. ⏰*TIME is important 🛑NO kitty litter! See below why. *Instead hang out clothing with your human scent ( dirty *socks* etc) replace daily. **Your kitty may still be close by. #1hiding spot under stairs/decks #2 in or under sheds/garages #3 in or under cars. Get a bright 🔦flashlight use day or night, some cats will not meow to give away their hiding spot as they are in survival mode. 👀Talk/Call calmly softly+shake treats. Listen. Repeat. **POSTERS/FLIERS DOOR TO DOOR **Include phone # for quick contact** when a sighting happens. Also put up on poles/mail boxes. *☎️Ask your neighbors to check their sheds, baby barns & garages as kitty may have been LOCKED😭 inside. *It is best to call for kitty late at night or early morning as they will usually hide during the daylight. **Sometimes, if you can leave your door/window open, they will come back in on their own. Just LOCK UP any other pets in another room. **Please post to your personal fb page. Set to public so we can share it. **Contact local vets, animal controls, SPCA, shelters. Kijiji. 🎵Radio . **Consider asking to borrow a humane Live Trap & Cam. 🐈*Good luck & never give up🐾 **👀 and post in Any 🏡community group that allows! ** 🛑 Kitty litter isnt always recommended by any trained animal rescue or trappers as it can also attract unfixed territorial cats and predators to the area. In cities or urban areas, less likely to get predators so may be ok under supervision. Other ideas to use dirty laundry with human scent replaced daily. POSTERS/Flyers door to door most effective way to spread the word, asking people to check sheds, garages. Check local rescues, vets and animal services daily in case someone picked up and turned kitty in to them. 🙏🐾🐈❤

Thank you so much to everyone who has shared our post, called, messaged, offered advice, helped search, or simply kept an eye out for Med. We truly appreciate every single person who has taken the time to help. So far, we have placed his beds, blankets, and food outside near our home and are regularly refreshing the food and water. We have posted more than 100 flyers throughout the area, filed a report with SPCA, and contacted 311. Today, we will also be visiting nearby veterinary clinics to let them know that Med is missing. Every message, share, sighting, suggestion, and act of kindness means a lot to us. Med is a beloved member of our family, and knowing that so many people care enough to help gives us hope. Thank you all for your support. ❤️

Go door to door and put up posters everywhere, they really work! Call 311 to make a lost cat report and check at the SPCA and Bide Awhile. Look under all decks and sheds as indoor kitties often hide there when they escape. Is he chipped? Good luck!
