Finders Bless you 🙏 for saving this sweeties life - pet birds do not survive long in the wild, YOU are an avian angel 😇 IF banded on leg, keep band imprint info confidential 🤫 it is one of the best tools to ID rightful owners 👌 I know You may have done some of this already ❤️ but... Budgies [aka common parakeet] are high energy metabolism birds. Please offer hydration first (water, thin slice apple no apple seed but skin ok, ) After… They need to eat several times a day (unlike large parrots) please serve seed or millet asap since we do not know how long birds been outside - many neighbors (can ask on Nextdoor too) have pet birds and you can also ask for some seed from them. Of course, water too ❤️ Budgies are usually found fairly close to home in surrounding neighborhoods 5-15 mi radius Also, if you haven't yet please post ASAP in your Nextdoor. com site; ring app hoa those types of sites and check off all surrounding neighborhoods for widest distribution You will need a cage for temporary fostering [If you want to foster, or cannot, you can ask on nextdoor.com to borrow bird cage OR a neighbor with bird experience is fine or most animal shelters do take pet birds. IF you transfer bird to foster or shelter, just please post the contact information and where bird is so a lost owner can retrieve. You can create a "free no cost" posting on Pawboost.com as well. Here are 911parrotalert protocols for found birds to help guide you and you can pm me if needed...🥰 FOUND YOU HAVE FOUND A BIRD PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS Thank you so much for searching for this bird’s family. We are providing a few additional steps that can be taken in order to locate this bird’s owner. Please follow the guidance and steps outlined in the attached link as soon as possible. https://resourcesforlostfoundparrots.blogspot.com/p/found-bird-protocol.html?fbclid=IwAR15oMDnklIs4KC1QrSBT-0Prh1y2pFNjLLx5xPFj54l10_Xwb1p91e35Mc Andrea - Admin here at both DFW Lost and Found Birds Parrots and Texas Bird Owners Lost and Found Page Specialist in lost, found and stolen pet birds.
