Is there another dog in the family or one that he loves?

Go knocking door to door asking your neighbors within a 2-3 block radius. Hand them a flyer with a photo of your cat/dog and a telephone number to be reached at. Hang up flyers outside and protect them with a plastic sleeve from the weather.

Call the police and report it incase someone has called them saying they found a dog. Ask them who your local animal control is and who your local animal shelters are. I would call them and also check them in person too

Very important! If your cat/dog is microchipped PLEASE double check to make sure the microchip is REGISTERED and up to date with your current information and telephone number incase someone finds your cat/dog and takes it somewhere to get scanned so that they can call you. You should have the chip number in your paperwork from who IMPLANTED the chip in. You will need the BRAND of chip to be able to call them and check to see if it is REGISTERED and up to date. If you only have the number and Not the BRAND of chip you can enter it for free on this national website. When you enter the chip number in it will ONLY tell you the BRAND of chip so that you can call them and check to see if it is REGISTERED and up to date with your current information and telephone number. https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/

Please make sure to actually GO to local shelters in person daily! Ask to see ALL dogs that have been brought in and are under the 48 hour hold, etc. Also, check those up for adoption! Do Not take the workers 'we don't have a dog like that' answer, no matter how well intentioned they seem. Nobody knows your dog like you do! Take flyers with you and leave them for reference. Many times shelter personnel will label a resident dog's breed improperly, not understanding the owners telephoned description well enough. Photos help tremendously! Also if your baby is microchipped, call the manufacturer (or visit their website) and verify that all of your information is correct and up to date. If you don't have the chip number, your veterinarian, or the place where you got your pup might be able to help with that. I'm praying for your pup's safe and speedy return! 🙏

Aubrey Anna Montes Put owners dirty laundry outside along with the dog's bed/blanket. Grill smelly meat. Look along water sources and over hillsides. Ask/tell neighbors. Flyers are very helpful. Look up Survival Mode in lost dogs so you'll have knowledge of the behaviors and what you should and shouldn't do. Prayers for a safe return. Consider using a drone service.
