Message from Owner

Murphy got scared on his walk of the fireworks and got out of his harness. This baby is a rescue and was just learning to live and love again! Please help us find him!!!! He’s so scared and shaky as it is learning to trust again. Thank you!!

Chana Oppgey nope. I spent the last week leading up to the holiday posting in over 30+ groups warning people to take extra precautions too. I do it every year.

This happens so often with harnesses. Easy to slip out of. Especially if he’s a new rescue he should be double leashed or another type of leash. And this is also why you don’t take your dogs out when there are fireworks going off. 🤯😞 Post flyers everywhere that say “cash reward - no questions asked”. Unfortunately, many people are only motivated by greed. Hand out flyers to vets offices, groomers, dog walkers, dog parks, stores, coffee shops, anywhere that will let you. Make sure you notified the police department using their non emergency line if you haven’t already. That is always the first thing you should do. Many people report their dogs missing or call the police if they see or find a lost dog. Also - notify local shelters and go in person to see if your dog is there. Ask neighbors and stores/restaurants to check their cameras too. Leave something unwashed with her scent and your scent on it outside your home. Good luck! I hope your dog is home safely and soon. 🙏🙏🙏 Ask local stores, vets offices, restaurants, coffee shops, rescues etc to post on their social media too. Especially the ones with a large following. Get his picture out there!

🐾Lost Dogs Please follow my (original) advice. Report to local police and animal control. Find out what shelter your town’s animal control contracts with to bring in strays. ⬇️ Knock on neighbor’s doors within a 2 mile radius and speak to people, hand out lost dog flyers. This is how you get sightings. Please put on the flyer “Do not call out. Do not chase.” Do not publish the locations of where the dog was seen because you’ll have a lot of people trying to go “Rescue” the dog which will force the dog further away. You do need sightings though, people keeping an eye out and contacting you with sightings and locations where seen. ⬇️ Please contact a legitimate lost pet trapping and recovery organization. Some are volunteer based. In NJ is: Buddha Dog Hound Hunters of NJ Sadie’s Lost Dog You can put a worn shirt (underarm scent) on your porch and replace with a freshly worn one daily. It’s a dog had a blanket that it slept on, you can put that out too. You can try barbecuing meat to draw the dog back. K.R.

Check neighbor's out buildings and garages. My son's dog was trapped in a neighbor's garage...
