I learned from the dog warden's office last week that if someone finds a dog they can basically hode the dog for three days and then get it licensed as theirs. Most people I hope would not do this, but some would. The original owners must have a license to claim the dog. I would call the dog warden and the police, even if you don't have a license. Google the finders name. Screen shot the post and send it all over on Facebook....Post it and your post on the Lost and Found Pets in Columbus FB page, on the lical FB pages like Clintonville Lost and Found Furry Friends. Call Rico Pet Recovery and see if they have ideas. Also, search the Franklin County Auditor and Franklin County Municipal Court sites to see if you can find an address associated with this name. Call your vet and ask for suggestions. If your dog is chipped, contact the company and update the info that your dog is lost and you think someone may be keeping it. Shawn Michael Ochs keep the posters up!! They are vital. 🙏🏼 check lost dog area a couple times a week at shelter as they get approx 25 dogs a day in and they only hold 3 days. They’re not post all dogs in the lost dog area.
