Message from Owner

My baby has been missing since Sunday, and I’m worried sick\. He went missing around the **Reed and Williams area in San Jose**\. He’s a very active little boy who sometimes goes outside, but he normally doesn’t go far and always comes back home\. I’ve searched everywhere inside and around the neighborhood with no luck\. If anyone has seen him, picked him up, taken him to a shelter, or knows anything at all, please reach out to me\. Even the smallest bit of information could help\. Please keep an eye out in your yards, garages, under cars, bushes, sheds, and anywhere he could be hiding\. I just want my baby home safe\. 😭💔🐾

I recommend you look in close neighbours outbuildings we found ours in backyard neighbor RV- they had looked but he hid we found him 3 days later he was fine but I hate to think if we hadn’t. Just have a flyer with you and kindly ask to have a quick look so you can call out to him as cats frequently hide when frightened. I hope kitty is home 🔜 🙏2 cats found by their owners recently one in a garage and other in a shed. At neighbors 👍boots on the ground look every bush. Up trees and under decks keep access open to home

For Baby Kitty's people: Please read the advice shared on the Missing Animal Response Network. They have a page specific to lost cat behavior. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/ Next, If you have not already, visit neighboring homes (don't rely upon their reading a post), ask them to look into their garages and outbuildings, checking multiple times while sitting patiently, and quietly. Cats get scared when in strange places and won't necessarily bolt for the door when it is opened, and might not even run to a familiar person if they happen to be present. Check every logical and illogical place your cat may have gotten into on your property, to name just a couple: cabinets/drawers — high and low; in garages/basements/sheds. Don’t forget to check in with local vets and animal shelters. Some have had success with placing a humane trap in their backyard - luring kitty in with a serving of their regular food; also with leaving clothing/blankets with your and/or their scent. Finally, for any reading this, please keep a bowl of water (ideally freshened every 2-3 days) in your garages/outbuildings for those instances when a neighborhood critter happens to find themselves trapped. Good luck, I hope to read a positive update on Baby Kitty soon!
