Oh no. I'm so sorry. I'm not sure I understand the circumstances -- did the animal trying to get into the catio get hold of Fluffnugs, or do you know for sure she got away? Was she chased from the catio or did she sneak out after the animal opened the enclosure? And how long had you been fostering Fluffnugs -- is she well acquainted with the catio? I ask because most escaped cats will attempt to return on their own, usually within the first few nights if the conditions are just right. As long as "the animal" didn't torment or terrify her to the point of believing the catio to be unsafe, Fluffnugs may try to sneak back home overnight if you know just what to expect and how to react. This is what I suggest you do tonight: get the other kitties secured inside the house, crack open the door to the catio and place tempting food at the door leading into the house. Call Fluffnugs softly from the doorway, then give her plenty of quiet time to return voluntarily. REMAIN INDOORS overnight and if you see her approach be very careful not to startle her. Very slowly and quietly provide a clear path into the house and she may put an end to the crisis herself. Please let me know what happens tonight and if she's not back by morning I'll provide more detailed instructions.

Hi! Please go walking through the neighborhood your baby’s name and shaking his/her bag of food or bag of treats. Use a flashlight at night. Look under cars, by bushes and any other place where he/she can be hiding. If possible leave your garage and lanai door partially open. Your cat will try to get back inside, especially during time when it is dark outside. The only way to find the way home again is by smell. Use some of your used clothes, put them outside along with his/her bed. Go in person to the local shelter to check if your cat is there. Call your cat’s microchip company to report him/her missing. Post on Facebook Lost and Found Pets groups of your area. Post him/her on Neighbors by Ring App. You don’t have to have a Ring Doorbell to get the app. There are Apple and Android versions of the app 🙏🏼 Post him/her on NextDoor App and on PawBoost too 🙏🏼 Prayers for your baby’s safe return 🥺

I'm sorry your kitty is missing. Here are some helpful tips. Indoor-only kitty? If so & she escaped they tend to hide closeby their house. Keep calling, looking under cars & behind outbuildings. At night use a flashlight to spot her eyes. Check area shelters & humane society in person. Post all info/pics to include location to: Nextdoor.com, petharbor.com & pawboost.com. Some disagree with this & continue to suggest placing used litter outside, but.....DO NOT USE KITTY LITTER TO ATTRACT MISSING KITTY! https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-pet-behaviors/kitty-litter-myth/
