I’m so sorry your sweet kitty is missing. Have you already put out something with your scent like a dirty shirt or blanket that you use? Cats have stronger noses than dogs so it may help him find his way home. If he an indoor kitty he will be close to home hunkered down. He will find the smallest space to fit in if he’s scared. Get his favorite food and call him. He might not come out the first night out of fear. Try again the next day. It took one of my cats 3 days to come out of his hiding place. He could hear me but was too scared to move or meow.
Please clink on this link she has helped find hundreds of missing cats www.happycatlady.com
Also notify your city pound in case they have her or received a call.
Keep calling him at all hours especially the odd hours at night and early morning when it’s quiet. He might not be far away, just too scared to move if something’s spooked him. Cats are excellent at hiding in small spaces. Check with neighbors and post flyers in case someone has brought her inside.
It’s recommended to use a camera/ring motion sensor thing to capture the cat eating with a trap, but only when you can watch the camera due to predators .
I had two cats (different cats different decades) get out & both times they were super close to home just a few feet away, but scared stiff and chose to hunker down even though they could hear me. So keep looking & maybe knock in a couple doors in case kitty’s trapped. They do love to explore and sometimes that ends up with them being lost or trapped.
Also check the surrounding buildings including their attics. Talk to the maintenance men. A while back someone found their cat after several weeks bcs kitty was in an attic of another building & the maintenance man found the cat. Post on Nextdoor there are some really nice neighbors willing to help find lost pets. I hope he waltz’s in like nothings wrong.Read More
