MESSAGE FROM OWNER

We love and miss Shadow “Baby” very much. We’ve had her since she was a kitten, 17 years. She is shaved into a lion cut for summer, she loves her grooming. Her mom brought her to us when she was just a few weeks old and we adopted Mom and “the Baby”, Mom was Ghost and baby is Shadow. We lost her mom to cancer a few years back. Please call or text if you spot her.

DESCRIPTION

Female Domestic Medium Hair. Gray & White Friendly, but very skittish. PLEASE DO NOT chase, call, or whistle as this may cause her to run in fear and into danger. She is 17 years old and recently shaved for summer with a pompom on her tail. We love her very much! Other cat opened screen and let her out but she is an indoor cat. Please call or text 440-622-4979 or email me at

I would begin a canvass of the neighborhood immediately - knock on doors with a photo and visit vet offices with a poster. Is she chipped, declawed, neutered>?

I'm sure he/she is hiding nearby or could have been accidently locked in a neighbor's garage - talk to all neighbors in a several block radius. Posters are helpful and do notify police and animal shelters.. Most importantly, I would get a chair, a bowl of her/his favorite food or tuna, a used litter box for scent, and stay outside your door in that chair tonight and every night until he/she comes home. Yes, I know it’s cold tonight but so is it cold for your baby – just bring blankets and a warm hat. Cats hide during the day but will come out late at night when they feel its safe. You need to be there when she/he comes back because he/she will not hang around and wait for you. Be patient and call her/him by name often. This will require some work and inconvenience but it will be well worth the effort.

We need more specific location info. I live in Geauga but have no idea where "near Girdled Road South reservation" is. Please add a main street and cross street. Its been 10 days and that is not good. You might want to consider a humane trap and or a surveillance camera to see if she is visiting during the night. I will post additional advice. She may very well have been "rescued" by a neighbor.
