The photo you see is the one I took immediately after scooping her up. Being able to smile because of the pressure of the anxiety was really eating at all of us.

I flew home from working on the road for the entire summer. I only had yesterday from 1130 am when I landed till 5 am June 10th, we had a report that she had been seen near Marconi and Allan Toussaint. So I kept going back out to that spot since she had been missing for over 48 hours. At 630 pm I went back to the intersection. I set up some food and brought her blanket out to. I did everything to get the scent of the blanket into the air. Around 730 my wife joined me along with my daughter. We just wouldn’t leave. My wife and I were talking and suddenly we heard a bark. Just one single bark. Then it happened again. So I ran into the very tall grass with no concerns but spotted or heard anything. So I went up to the top of the levee. Started singing something she enjoys joining in with me. Nothing for a few minutes. Then finally it happened she barked and I instantly knew it was her. Immediately back into the tall grass. As soon as I put eyes on her she got scared tried to run but then I told her she was such a good girl and she realized it was her human. She started whimpering and crying licking me. I scooped her up and ran her back to wife and daughter who were beyond elated that she was finally safe! My nervous system is still recovering from the ups and downs.
