Damien Christopher what exactly is incorrect and unfactual? I said most of the things that you said in your post I’ve been rescuing missing cats for 10 years. I do it the same way every time and I am successful 99.9% of the time. When indoor cats go missing their in panic mode and the owner could be standing very close to them calling them and they will not come out. They do not go to the owners. They will run if the owners call them. Even if the cat comes back onto the front porch, chances are if the front door is open to let them in, they will run. Very few can be picked up and brought in the house.

Kim Collotty Jobst here is information from TNR rescue people I have acquired. The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. They have to use their sense of smell to get home again. Put anything outside that smells like their territory. Put the pajamas you slept in outside because you probably sweated in them. Put out their food your stinky socks your smelly sneakers anything you can think of that the cat will recognize by smell. Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week or so sleeping in the bushes during the day and coming out at dusk and dawn. Those are good times to take a walk shaking the treat bag calling out but cats also tend to come out and walk around very late at night. Try to keep a door cracked if you can whether it's the garage or whatever or a window cracked so you can hear them if they call out for you. Put this on all of the neighborhood pages as well as lost and found pets sites. Knock on the neighbors doors and make sure they know you're looking for your cat. Good luck PS cats can smell up to one mile away from their own house. Absolutely no litterbox outside or food. It attracts predators is why. Never give up.

Borrow a humane trap. Set it right beside the place that he got out. Put kitties favorite food, treats and sardines in the trap with a trail of juice & sprinkle catnip in the juice, leading out of the trap. Put an article of his favorite human’s unlaundered clothing, over top of the trap. Have his favorite human sit in the spot he got out, at dusk &/or dawn. Talk to him softly like, he was sitting right beside you because, he will not be far away. Gently shake his treat container & take a laser pointer & move it around very slowly so as to peak his curiosity & not scare him away further. Also set trail cams to see if kitty is there. Trap must be monitored at all times. Put up flyers You should also leave a door open at dusk and early morning hours Keep things very quiet Often they'll come back in on their own

Finding missing cats is about 2 things: food and cameras. If you have a camera on your house, put a dish of a fish flavor canned food out around 8pm and keep a bowl of dry cat food out there 24/7. Check your cameras every morning to see if she came to eat. Cats come out in the middle of the night when we are asleep. If your home doesn’t have a camera, get a cellular trail cam from Walmart. Point it at the dish of food. When the cam senses motion by the food dish, it’ll send a pic to your cell phone. I’m sure she hasn’t gone too far. If you see her on camera at night, watch for her around the same time the next night, & if you see her, quietly open the door and see if she’ll come in or if she’ll let you pick her up and bring her in. If not, put a humane trap there the next night same time. Make fliers and give to all immediate surrounding neighbors. Put 1 the local grocery store. The more people you have watching out for her the better. Just keep putting food out at night and checking cameras. Shouldnt take to long for her to show up for food. Praying you find her 🙏🙏
