any vet or a shelter can do free microchip scan to find owner if lost. There is a microchip station at Petco Sunnyvale (Bay Area Cats) as well.

Shared. Please secure the kitty and get a microchip scan done asap. Any veterinary office and some pet stores can scan. Call ahead to verify and to schedule the scan. Post the kitty on Nextdoor as well and check frequently for updates on both websites. Not everyone checks social media, post flyers in the area. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when you post the flyers. Ask for proof when someone contacts you to claim the kitty, and pay very close attention to the kitty's reaction to the person.
