Message from Owner

Poppy was abandoned in the city. His people left him and moved out leaving him to fend for himself. The neighbors fed him for about a month or so. I've had him since DEC.2025. MY FRIEND GAVE HIM TO ME FOR A XMAS PRESENT.JES SHY AT FIRST AROUND PEOPLE. HE MAY SCRATCH AND BITE IF U TRY TO PICK HIM UP. I hope he doesn't do that. If anybody sees him please call me Karen jackson thank u poppy( le' pew) is his nick name. He's my best friend please if u see him call me

Use a flashlight to look in, under, behind all dark spaces so that their eyes glow. You can do this during the day, but especially at night when things are quieter. Check inside the house as well just in case. Look up in trees in case kitty climbed up to escape another animal. Put some of your dirty laundry/worn clothing outside for the scent. Leave a door cracked open so kitty can get back inside. Set up trail cameras outside and use a humane trap that you can buy at a hardware store or borrow from a rescue. Ask neighbors to check garages and sheds. Hang LOST signs in your area. Post on Nextdoor app, Ring app, area facebook pages, and lost and found facebook pages. Make sure microchip information is accurate. Check local animal shelters in person. Check the 24petconnect website via zip code for intakes.

I'm sorry kitty is missing. The number one piece of advice is to actively work to bring your cat home. Don't just wait for them to show up. Hang fliers--they work. Notify the microchip company that he is missing. Visit local animal controls in person. Notify local veterinarians. Post to the Next Door app for area lost. If kitty is normally indoors only he is likely very close to home. Sit quietly outside at night w a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Put out stinky mackerel or canned pink salmon. A trail cam can be helpful. You might need a live trap. Don't lose hope. Best of luck. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-pet-behaviors/kitty-litter-myth/

Sweet angel, hope she's home soon. Please post signs, talk to neighbors, hand out flyers, and walk around the neighborhood calling for Poppy.
