Yes I know what the ear tip means. When he first showed up at my house I thought he was feral. He wasn't. He is a pet.

The clipped ear is usually a sign of the animal being TNR'd (trapped, neutered and released) though some vets will do this to non ferals so if they do get out and get lost at least people will know it has been neutered.
