Valerie Rotolone Hi. I don't know where this neighborhood is since they don't have a cross street on there but I have an idea which part of town it probably is. Did you know in low income neighborhoods across the valley, the rate of microchipped pets is extremely low probably between 3 and 7%? Maybe even less? Did you know that the neighborhood apps have the top rate of recovery for lost pets? It's because they work like an amber alert. They cover the immediate vicinity and get the word out to multiple people at once. The people most likely to see the dog in real life. Next door has around a 75% return rate. Neighbors by ring has around a 69% return rate. Cities like Gilbert and Surprise Arizona have extremely high rates of return for lost pets. One of the things I noticed about both of those cities is they are extremely interactive on these apps. They are quick to post and neighbors are quick to jump into help and reply. Flyers have around a 7 to 21% return rate. This is because they are about 10 steps involved for a flyer to be effective. However all 3 of these are the top methods because They reach the immediate vicinity. Immediately They reach the people most likely to see the pet. They reach many people at once in the Target area. The national average is only 6% of pets are found at the shelter. And Maricopa County shelter runs around 10%. Sad right? Clothing scent trails only work on maybe 2% of Lost pets. They work on dogs that: ▪️ Are being trained for tracking ▪️ Calm relaxed dogs ▪️ That are within about three houses of home ▪️ That are actively looking for the house They do not work on: ▪️ Dogs in fight or flight ▪️ Dogs that are further than about three houses from home ▪️ This suggestion does not work in excessive heat temps In residential areas that are predominantly elderly residents Flyers are the way to go. I'm a 13-year rescue Advocate and a Lost Pet strategist and Yorkshire terriers are one of the top found and kept/stolen breeds. If your dog is friendly there's a very good chance that someone picks it up and takes it home and doesn't look back. Hopefully you get lucky and someone does the right thing but if I had a lost Yorkie I would: 1. Have a post with a reward and the amount on next door and neighbors by ring immediately. 2. Then I would be slapping up Flyers with a reward and the amount my phone number and a picture of my dog all over my neighborhood immediately. You got to move quick and you got to go hard. I hope you find your dog.

1. If you really want to find your pet then it's very important that you put the proper information on your post. 2. There are lots of rescue volunteers in the valley that want to help but it's the owner's responsibility to make sure that others have the proper information to look for the pet. 3. Nobody knows where small neighborhood street are. It takes 2 seconds to put the major intersection and the city on a post. You don't have those. That means you're losing time you don't have to find your dog. 😭 You want to fix that. 4. LOCATION SHOULD BE FIRST ON ALL POSTS. 5. KEYWORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOUR DOG ARE SUPER IMPORTANT. If someone didn't see a picture of your dog and they read your description would they be able to properly picture what your pet looks like so they would know if they saw it running down the road? That's what you're aiming for. Very descriptive. Short dog, small dog, terrier mix, black and brown terrier mix, scruffy, bigger version of Toto in The wizard of Oz etc whatever you can say the people can visualize your dog. 6. Also we have a very very high rate of people that think if it's free it's for me in the valley. Small dogs are found and kept all day long across Maricopa county. People that sleep well at night while they drive past your flyer. It's bad. Probably around 80%. For that reason it's important to do the right things out the gate to find your pet.

I would share to Chandler lost and found pets… check with neighbors get flyers up if you can, check shelters! I hope he is found soon !
