This is my belief- I fine nothing wrong in putting out use litter as it has their strongest scent for them to pick up on to fine their way back bc they might be disoriented. People say other cats my come a long,this could be true but how many cats cross your lawn at night or day time that you don't see even when yours is home. Clothing only holds the scent for a few hours then it disappears with the wind. I would say if you live near wooded area then no bc that's too close for other predators but city life is rare for them to come. But I'll leave it up to them in what they want to do but if you do put it by your door on porch

Laurie Wright excellent suggestion to find out who is feeding in the neighbourhood… but as for litter, we never recommend - it can attract predators to their property, that is why cats bury their excrement, to hide it from predators. A seasoned outdoor cat is not motivated by his own scent, he’s likely stuck in a garage, pushed away by rival cats or rehomed himself due to better food.

Put up posters, put use litter outside so she/he can pick up on their scent. notified vets, shelters, and recuses. Also notified chipped company if your cat is chipped. Check 1-2 blocks each way calling the cats name. .Check close to home like tree's, brushes, and any holes he may fine to hide. Ask neighbors to check their backyards and sheds. Go out late at night when everything is quite calling the cats name while carry a treat like tuna, make sure you stop to listen. Check under cars etc... Do you know if their is a cat colony someone in your area bc you could check with them to see if your baby is there too GL...Also beware of scammers-don't give money and ask them to sent picture NO FOOD it will attack prey

FRODO is adorable. Now let’s find him. He will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off his eyes and makes it easier to locate him. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place he may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. He may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling his name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if he has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten him micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again he can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

Please place his bedding outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing front and back door with a can of tuna on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Show your neighbors a picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call immediately. Go early in the morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Best of luck finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️
