LauraJane Abbot posted to Nextdoor app, flyers in the area, etc. What complicates the search she was stolen in the carrier with other belongings in one area, and then dumped in the carrier in the area posted. Local restaurant owner saw carrier outside and opened it for cat to go out...so she's not close to home

Please keep calling her ESPECIALLY at night when all is quiet. She is nearby and may be stuck in a garage or shed.

I ndoor cats usually stay in a 3 to 5 house radius of home * Will often hide all day and only come out late at night * Most will come home between 2 and 4 am * Leave the door or window they escaped from open if possible. If not, leave another door open if you can. * If you can't leave a door open, get up throughout the night and check outside. * Around 10 pm set out smelly food like rotisserie chicken * At night, walk the area and call softly. Listen carefully. Use a flashlight to catch eyeshine. * You can put the cat's blanket out or your worn clothing, or just make some lines or little piles of your cat’s dirty litter to help guide them back home. Ask your neighbors with garages/sheds or outdoor bat access to check as cats can be accidentally locked in and neighbors may go away on vacation without realizing a cat is in their bat or garage/shed. Also very important to look at the trees close by cats often get stuck high up in trees after being startled or chased. Not everyone is on facebook so for the best results put between 50-100 flyers in your area all around a 3-4 block radius. Also post on the other social media platforms-Instagram ring neighbors, Ring/neighbors app is totally free to post on and an alert is sent to all the neighbors who have cameras and just neighbors who are subscribed about your cat. Nextdoor Com is similar as it targets your area so all the neighbors who are on Nextdoor can be alerted to your missing kitty

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾
