Message from Owner

We had entrusted Poppy to a friend while away on a fishing trip. Something we often did. Unfortunately, Poppy escaped during this time, and the individual responsible failed to inform us and has since become unreachable. By the time we became aware of the situation and contacted your centre, we were devastated to learn that Poppy had already been rehomed and the pound would give no info on here whereabouts or simply if she was safe. Poppy is not just a pet, Daryl has had her since she was 10 weeks old, and she has been his constant companion for the past 5 years since moving to Australia from Northern Ireland. The sudden loss without closure is causing immense distress. We are also deeply concerned for Poppy’s wellbeing. She would be frightened and confused without Daryl and not knowing whether she is safe, cared for or in the right hands is something we are struggling to cope with. The thought that she may have ended up in unsafe circumstances is truly overwhelming. This may be a long shot but any sightings or help would be truly appreciated by two heartbroken people.

I have just sent the man from the Wanneroo Council a message regarding the circumstance of Poppy being put in the pound and then rejoined 3 days later. Asked him to investigate this, Poppy needs to be with her people. Not strangers who are unfamiliar and have not had her for long. Hope it works.

This dog went missing in march... she was first taken to a vet - no tags, no microchip, no registration. She was then transferred to the pound, held for 7 days, then transferred to a rescue, before being adopted out. He didn't even realise his dog was missing for over 6 weeks...

Seems to be some holes in the story. Person says he was only away for a few days, also within those few days apparently the friend/housemate looking after the dog moved to Qld? the pound legally has to hold them for a number of days before sending to a rescue for rehoming. The dog was neither microchipped nor registered. I don't think the pound is at fault here.

Amee Julian never said they did do anything wrong. They were keeping a dog who had got out of her home safe by picking her up. Just hoping to know what happened to her after this.
