Message from Owner

We had entrusted Poppy to a friend while away on a fishing trip. Something we often did. Unfortunately, Poppy escaped during this time, and the individual responsible failed to inform us and has since become unreachable. By the time we became aware of the situation and contacted your centre, we were devastated to learn that Poppy had already been rehomed and the pound would give no info on here whereabouts or simply if she was safe. Poppy is not just a pet, Daryl has had her since she was 10 weeks old, and she has been his constant companion for the past 5 years since moving to Australia from Northern Ireland. The sudden loss without closure is causing immense distress. We are also deeply concerned for Poppy’s wellbeing. She would be frightened and confused without Daryl and not knowing whether she is safe, cared for or in the right hands is something we are struggling to cope with. The thought that she may have ended up in unsafe circumstances is truly overwhelming. This may be a long shot but any sightings or help would be truly appreciated by two heartbroken people.

If anyone knows any rescue groups associated with Wanneroo Pound that would be great also, I will start chasing them for any info 🙏🏼

Daryl Hart can you get a court order against the council to release the details of where Poppy went?

Something is not right.? Did you go away on the 1st of May or did this happen on the first of May.? Was she microchipped but not registered.? They usually contact who ever the microchipped has named- even if it was the person that sold her- well actually i don’t know if they would contact Ireland- but surely if it was linked to someone that far away they would realise this dog has a owner. Are you 100% sure that she has been rehomed and it’s not a made up story.? Far out of its true and i adopted a dog from the pound in this situation I would be soo p..d off that they didn’t contact me and tell me what happened. You adopt from a pound it’s a good indicator you want the dog to have a loving home. Finding out they had one already you would happily give the dog back. This is sad. I would contact the News. Surely they would do a story like this one

Im so sorry. This is heartbreaking. Also its so rare to find people actively trying to find their furry-bub. Does Poppy have any distinguisable features you can add to your blurb?
