Berra snuck outside late last night. She will be 14 next month, and I’ve had her and her brother since they were three weeks old. She is so, so loved.

Did you actually SEE her go outside? If not, do this too! CAT HIDING INDOORS Cats can hide for days indoors. Owners tell me their cat wouldn’t be inside because they will come out to eat - One was located in a basement crawl space after 10 days! Here are some indoor places cats have been found you may not have thought of looking: In closets, take everything out, they can hide very well. If you have ducts/pipes running from floor to ceiling, notice any openings where the cat could crawl in to the floor/ceiling or even inside the duct. Under your upholstered furniture if there are any tears or openings along the seam, cats can climb in. Same on mattresses and box springs. Look inside your recliner if you have one. Found one hiding inside a mattress on someone’s porch once! Look in ALL draws; had someone find their cat hiding for 3-4 days in the dresser, no idea how it got there. In back of, underneath and INSIDE all appliances, fridge, stove, dishwasher. Someone had one hiding in their bottom draw on stove. Washer/dryer - Look in your dryer vent. Inside kitchen cabinets, any openings, holes inside. Had one found inside a cabinet but got underneath the bottom of it. If you have any openings in basement walls. Found one under plywood floor in a basement. Another under the floor in basement where the toilet was raised higher. China cabinet, inside, on top; bookshelves. Sitting on a chair tucked into the table. If you have suspended tile ceilings, had one inside a ceiling one time. If you have slot of stuff in your basement or stairs to your attic you need to actually move things and search in boxes. Etc. If cat has access to basement or attic, put tunafish and catnip out and notice if any is eaten. You can sprinkle a little bit of catnip but make a neat little circle, about the diameter of a half dollar, so you can notice if it has been touched. Cats will usually roll around on it, and it will become scattered.
