I understand fully. (WE) lost our cockatiel whose name was Troubadour MANY years ago ---- (( BEFORE cellphones )) .... right out the front door when my small young son came in from school with his friend to show our Troubadour to him. Well, it just couldn't have been a windier day. The wind blew the front door wide open and our Troubadour flew right out. Our hearts sank. Trust me, I did all I possibly could, from posting pictures all over the neighborhood as quickly as I could. Well to no avail. Never did get our awesome PURDY-BIRDIE back - sadly😰
