Thank you very much. The dog was scanned for a microchip and the owner just reached out now. The chip had older information and was a classic case of rehoming an animal without updating the information on the chip.

Please take and have checked for a microchip. Its free and any vet will do it. If there is no microchip make sure that whoever claims him that they have solid proof of ownership. Such as vet records that you can verify by calling vet, Groomers name and number. Photos are good but can also be AI generated so be careful if just showing photos. What is the dogs name and how does her respond to it. And how does he react to seeing the person who says they are the owner. Thank you for keeping this baby safe
