This sweet little guy was found sleeping on the side of my hse this morning. Has a collar but no tag (Blocked the collar color as a way to confirm owner identity later). Very skinny, so probably has been lost for several days. Extremely skittish as well. Was able to give him some of my dogs food this morning. Brought him to my gated backyard in hopes it would deter him from going off into the busy road and also give him some shaded covered patio area in case it rained. Somehow he escaped, but only to go back to the side of the hse which he seems to like more. So left my backyard open for him so he can roam around and he hasn’t even left past the driveway. Unfortunately can’t bring him inside to the a/c currently as I have a small senior dog, and he is quite dirty, not neutered, and unsure if vaccinated or anything. Would really love to try to find his owner asap, but in the meantime, he’s being well fed, has a huge bowl of water. Bought him some treats that he loved and slowly has been getting closer and closer to me, which is the goal so that I can take him to the vet to check for a microchip. He’s not a fan of any toys because he’s super scared of them too. So, I’m unsure if this is an abuse situation or if he’s just been alone for too many days and is just scared in general.
