Message from Owner

Hi, we are in town from El Paso and one of our dogs, Cody, is missing. We are renting a hse and left for a few hours. When we came back, he was gone. If anybody has seen him or has him, please let me know. My phone number is. He is 7 years old, white, and a very friendly and loveable pup. My kids are absolutely devastated and we're worried about him because of the cold weather. Any information will help. Thank you.

I did leave a message and it seems they were able to retrieve him. May he rest peacefully and his memory be a blessing.

Roce Mitc thank you so much for the information. We believe it may have been Cody 😭 We went and collected the body and it was pretty unrecognizable...but the paws and tail looked a lot like his. I'm still holding out some hope, so please let me know if you all see anything or hear anything. Thank you all for all your help, tips, well wishes, and shares

I hope this isn't yours- but I reported a dog that looked very similar- especially that long fluffy tail - to Denver PD non emergency this morning as it had been fatally injured at Federal and I70 northbound exit at about 7:00 this morning. I am so very sorry if this was yours. Please contact Denver PD non emergency to confirm. My heart goes out to you.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers. The dog usually circles back to the location where they went missing - all the best.

Put a scent station (dirty Tshirt, socks, pillow case with owner smell) at the spot where dog went missing, to help dog smell it way back to where it went missing. You will need to keep monitoring spot every couple hours to see if dog returns to spot. Put sign with picture on front yard incase someone finds dog in neighborhood and drives or walks around looking for dogs home. Also, please check ALL local shelters and rescues everyother day to see if pet has been brought in GOOD LUCK
