Norma Romero I’m not sure what area you’re in but 15 states have stolen dog laws. Either way if you can prove the value of your boy was over $950 it’s no longer petty theft, it’s grand theft and can be a felony charge. People are mistaken thinking it’s a civil matter everywhere because that’s not the case with dogs that cost this much. It’s important to file a police report stating the value of your boy, the situation exactly how it happened and providing proof of ownership.
Proof Of Ownership
Make sure you have current documentation that proves you own your dog. These include adoption papers or contract, licensing documents (akc registration), veterinary records, and recent identifying photographs. She has none of that so you will win. If you can prove it’s your dog keep fighting until you get him back. She has none of that
