Youre taking ownership and responsibility for them. You dont even have to be in a position to get any of them fixed considering we have free spay and neuter programs that would help if you reach out. Under the new Texas law you feed a stray, you are considered owner, you can be held liable and can be charged with neglect and cruelty especially if any of them need emergency care or are suffering from any sort of disease or injury. If you can afford food, you can afford a 10min phone call for help like animal control or SPCA. Feeding them is not a kindness. Feeding them is setting them up for failure. Feeding them and not doing anything further is cruelty and neglect. People need to learn to stop feeding strays!!!!!! I have been in the rescue business for over 30 years! I currently run a rescue. I am so tired of people thinking they are doing the right thing when they are not and when told they are not doing the right thing they want to argue about it. There's a reason why we tell people to ignore the strays and the dumped animals especially if you cannot afford to take ownership or responsibility for that animal. There's a reason why we tell people to stop trying to feed them.
