Message from Owner

We lost her along the lakeside trail of the Quaker Race Day Use area of Gifford Pinchot State Park heading towards the cabins. She is not an outdoor cat and is probably scared, but very friendly. She is microchipped and we want her home badly😭

Thank you for all of the suggestions, unfortunately because it is a state park I’m unable to do most of these things😭 I’m not permitted to be there after sunset or before 0800. We’re not allowed to set traps or leave food due to the wild animals. Nor were trail cams permitted. I was permitted to leave a box with a blanket for the night, but that is temporary. The area is dense with vegetation and difficult to navigate. We were walking a trail where she got loose. I’m hoping she is hiding close by and will come to us when we return. If you have any other suggestions I’m definitely open to any and all ideas, we miss our baby terribly.

Follow the advice given and set a trap for kitty close to where cat got out. Put food in the trap and a worn Tshirt for scent. Cover the trap with a towel or cat's blanket. Hopefully this will bring cat home

Lost house cats usually do not go far. Look in,under, on top of all structures/trees in the near vicinity. Have a flashlight with you as his/her eyes will reflect in the dark. If you do see him/her, no sudden movements. Have some treats or his/her food with you. Also, if you can leave a door or window slightly open, he/she may come back in their own. Keep an ear to the outside after dark. Many kitties come back after dark and meow to be let back in. Leave a piece of clothing with your scent near the open space that is helpful.Have neighbors look in garages, sheds and other structures. Also if you did not see him/her get out or know for sure she/he did, check every inch of your house, she/he could be trapped or hiding somewhere. Good Luck!!
