Message from Owner

Fence was cut . Horse was lured into his stall with feed. Person that took him had their own halter/lead rope. Neighbors security camera indicated flashlight lighting up the way to the shed and stalls around 1:10 am and the horse was walked out by 1:20. He belongs to my 94 year old father and this is the last horse he will own due to broken vertebrae in his back and issues making it impossible to walk. To the person that took him - I KNOW you saw me out there daily. You knew where the weak spot was but didn't think cameras would pick up the fact you parked past the guard rail and walked the horse up the street to the trailer. You also know he is 17 years old and past his rodeo prime so the best I can hope for other than his return is that you will take good care of him.

Kindel Meek Thankyou! It was before the internet, cell phones, etc. I just called most all the horse people I could think of. Someone suggested I try sale barns & I started calling them. There was only 1 sale anywhere around on that day & it was just across the state line in AR. I called them & they really were not helpful. I was out of ideas, so I just drove there & found him. VERY fortunate!

That’s because we don’t treat horse thieves and cattle thieves, like the old rustling laws or probably the ones are still on the books, but we probably just don’t do much to the criminal! Stealing from an elderly man who probably loves this horse dearly, this will devastate him! Personally, that should be elder abuse, in and of itself I vote for two charges horse rustling, and abuse to a senior citizen!
