Go out at night with a flashlight & a bag of treats. Look under bushes, porches, decks & up in trees. You may see the reflection of his eyes. Do NOT put out the litterbox. It may draw other animals who will mark & scare your kitty away. Put out a blanket or towel that smells familiar. Good luck to you.

Lost house cats usually do not go far. Look in,under, on top of all structures/trees in the near vicinity. Have a flashlight with you as his/her eyes will reflect in the dark. If you do see him/her, no sudden movements. Have some treats or his/her food with you. Also, if you can leave a door or window slightly open, he/she may come back in their own. Keep an ear to the outside after dark. Many kitties come back after dark and meow to be let back in. Leave a piece of clothing with your scent near the open space that is helpful.Have neighbors look in garages, sheds and other structures. Also if you did not see him/her get out or know for sure she/he did, check every inch of your house, she/he could be trapped or hiding somewhere. Good Luck!!

If they are an indoor kitty they usually are within three-four houses either way from their home and hiding. Please go out and search for their eye shine with a flashlight under any sheds, porches or decks nearby. . They will usually run to hunker down someplace like that. Someone said they were calling their cat and shaking treats all day. When they looked their kitty was under their deck the whole time but too scared to come out. You can hang out your pillowcase or cat blanket for scent attract. Please NO kitty litter outside as it will attract strays or wildlife that may keep them away. Post on Nextdoor. Hopefully someone will see them on security cameras. Get or borrow a humane trap. Traps must be monitored. And watch out for scammers. Do not send anyone info on messenger or Instagram if they ask.
